Escape to Bali

1st Day: Arrive in Bali

We had bought the flight ticket during last December.. In a blink of eyes, it's mid-May and it's the time for B a l i~
.
On the 18th of May, we reached LCCT around 2pm as our flight departed at 3.50pm.
.
Many people wore mask (nah.. we didn't do that~) due to H1N1..
.
We arrived at Denpasar Airport around 7.30pm (Flight delayed for 30 minutes)..
The driver of Febri's Hotel waited for us at the arrival hall.
.
Well, What was my 1st impression of Bali?
.
It was like "kampung" in Malaysia..
.
And what's more, the traffic was terrible in Bali.
.
After we checked in, we went for dinner. We had some simple meal in a seafood restaurant.
After that, we had a walk around our hotel (Kuta) and did some shopping.
.
I was able to grab a piece for 50000Rp (RM17) but in the end of the trip I grabbed a better one only for 30000Rp (RM10).
.
So, remember, an one piece dress over Bali only cost 30000Rp or less.

Sky Bus from KL central to LCCT: RM 9

Dinner in Mini Seafood and Restaurant: 48000 Rp

One piece dress: 50000 Rp

This is cute! The reason I choose Febri's hotel is Febri's had good feedbacks from forumers as well as other bloggers.
Besides, they really offered good customer service. The environment was comfortable and beautiful.

2nd Day: Kintamani, Ubud, Tegallalang Rice Terrace, Jimbaran Bay

We had contacted a driver named Pak Nyoman (08123610391) before the trip. He was alright and drove us for 12 hours (actually suppose to be 8hrs.. =p)

After breakfast, we went to watch Barung Dance. Barung Dance is a tradisional dance in Bali. The Barung-Play represents an internal fight between good and evil spirit.

After that, we went to see batique craving as well as paintings.
.
.

In the afternoon, we went to Kintamani over looking the Mount Batur (Volcano) and Batur Lake while having buffet lunch. On the way, it was rain. We were lucky because the rain stopped while we were having lunch. The view is wonderful~

Kintamani- Mount Batur(Volcano)

Our next station was spices plantations at the Sribatu Village. We were there to taste the pure flavour of Bali coffee, as well as ginger tea, ginseng coffee and chocolate.
I personally like the ginseng coffee and ginger tea so much ^^
Bali coffee (Lawak Coffee) is made by the fox's feaces.
Hmm.. Our driver told us that it is good as it can be use as medicine.
Anyway, it sounds disgusting.. =p
We saw the little fox in the cage as well.
Pity little one looked so sad..
Oh yea, they were selling fruits such as passion fruits and snake skin fruits as well in the garden.

From the left, Ginger Tea, Cocoa, Bali Coffee, Ginseng coffee

Buah Salak (Snake skin Fruit)

Next, we took our move to Pura Titra Empul.
It was a temple and there was a part that we needed to wear sarung to visit the place.

Then, we moved on to the amazing Tegallalang Rice Terrace. The view was inspiring.
I always read about this in Geography during high school and this was the first time I saw it.

After had a wonderful sight-seeing, we took a long journey to Jimbaran Bay to have a romantic dinner.
Restaurants were set up at the beach.
We selected the live seafoods and it was immediately prepared.
Well, the environment was cosy but the dinner was not cheap~
Remember to ask for discount wherever whenever you are in Bali.
We did it.. and we got discount for this as well.

3rd day: Taman Ayun, Tanah Lot, Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Uluwatu

After breakfast, we went to Taman Ayun.
It is a nice place which have a beautiful green field.
Taman Ayun is the royal family temple of Mengwi King, built in 1643, the picturesque temple is surrounded by large moat.

Then, we moved on the the famous tourist hotspot- Tanah Lot.
Tanah lot is s located in coastal side of Beraban countryside, Kediri sub district and Tabanan Regency.
We were marveled to see the beauty panorama of Tanah Lot.
We did make donation and make a wish.
There were two temples in Tanah lot: Tanah Lot temple and Batu Bolong Temple.
Besides, there was a snake in the cave.
You can make donation to have a look at it.
Well, I'm afraid of reptiles.. So, HELL NO~

We had babi guling for our lunch~ It is famous in Bali.
The taste was okay.. not special for me.
Again, ask for discount.
We had discount here as well (20000Rp for a set, normal price 25000Rp)

After lunch, we went to shop for souvenirs~
These were what we grabbed: Keychains

Following up, we went to Garuda Wisnu Kencana.
"It is devoted to the Hindu god Vishnu, and his mount, Garuda, the mythical bird who is his companion. " [wikipedia]
This place is unique and I'm so suprised that all the view over there were not natural occured.
The cultural park featured attractions such as Lotus Pond, Festival Park, Amphitheater, Street Theater, Exhibition Hall, as well as Jendela Bali The Panoramic Resto and souvenir shop .
However, many of the attractions are still under constructions.
Tourists able to watch famous performance such as Barung Dance and Kecak Dance in the cultural park.

In the evening, we arrived in the popular tourist destination-Uluwatu.
There are many monkeys over there so do careful of your belongings during your visits.
No doubt Uluwatu is a great place to see sunset.
We enjoyed the view so much and the scene of beauty penorama of sunset was really inspired me.
You will never want to missed that if you are in Bali.

That was breathtaking scene of Uluwatu~

We watched Kecak dance in Uluwatu. Kecak dance is a Balinese dance which is not accompanied by any orchestra/gambelan but by a choir of seventy men (but I just saw 50 over..) it has origin in an ritual dance, "Sanghyang" or trance dance.
It was interesting and I like it more than Barung Dance.
.
.
After the show, we have our dinner at small stalls in Kuta.
We had tried some local delicacies such as Baso, Terang Bulan and Martabak.
Taste good and CHEAP~
What's more, we had tried the avocado drinks.
They mixed the avocado fruit with little chocolate.
The juice was delicious and refreshing~ Love it much!

It was comfortable and nice~

There were 4 flavours of body scrubs: Coffee, Green Tea, Coconut and Orange.
I've chose coconut flavor~

After spa, we went to the Bomb Memorial. That was the place where many people died in the 2002 tragedy.

This local delicacies is knowned as Kado. Kutupat, peanuts, vege and so on.
.
